When I was 18 years old I dropped out of high school to join a touring bar band. I spent the next few years as a professional singer and guitar player.
I loved it at the time but I started to get caught up in the “party” lifestyle.
After a few years of playing in bars and nightclubs my music career started to take off, and I was performing in bigger and bigger shows.
I graduated from playing in bars to then playing in big venues like festivals, casino showrooms, theatres and concert stages. In fact, the biggest show I played was on stage in front of over 35,000 people!
It was a very cool life but I was also getting caught up in the drinking and drugs that were so common in the music business.
I got fully addicted to drugs and alcohol and it became a huge problem for me… I could not stop.
